SCREW CONVEYORS
Description
Screw conveyors are used to transport pile materials in a horizontal or downward direction. This equipment works alone or in concert with other machinery and technical lines. Material is transported using a rotating screw in a chamber or tube. The screw edges of the screw move the material fro the end of the chamber to the pile where the material falls. A screw conveyor has a trough shape and is composed of two sections. Both ends of the screw conveyor are equipped with flanges and end bearings for attaching additional screws. The screw is installed in the middle in the middle bearing. The entire conveyor is covered by a removable cover. The removable cover has openings to visually inspect bearings at the position of the middle bearing. An operating circuit is located at the other, shorter end, which visually indicates rotor rotation or stoppage. The material enters the screw conveyor from above via holes in the cover. This material then falls into the screw location. The screw rotates moving this material in the same direction to the other end of the conveyor. At the other end the material falls out of the conveyor. Screw conveyor operation can be inspected visually via the operating circuit. If the operating circuit is moving so is the rotor. A screw conveyor is mounted on legs or consoles at the installation site. Legs or consoles are detachable and are screwed onto the body of the conveyor. These can be installed directly onto the filter hopper.
Main components
1. Conveyor body with screw
2. Drive (transmission with electric motor)
